HI THERE, NICE TO MEETCHA

I began my career in hairdressing in 1988 at the tender age of 18. Originally from the San Diego area, I found my way up the coast to the quaint seaside town of Morro Bay in 1997. In 2001 I opened my first salon, Honey. This was a small, intimate 3 chair studio in the heart of Morro Bay full of light and sophistication. It was a great success with clients coming from all corners of the county for my services. Honey closed it’s doors in 2004 so I could focus on raising her son. She moved to a salon in San Luis Obispo and continued to hone her skills. In 2009 she became very disillusioned with the industries toxic status quo. She thought there had to be a better and safer way to create beautiful hair both for the client and the stylist. This lead me on a journey that would change my life, both personally and professionally, in ways I could never have imagined!

She loved creating a space for her clients to relax in that would reflect the creative process. She feels it’s all in the details… from the moment a client walks into the salon to the second they step out the door they should feel relaxed and nurtured. She has been somewhat of a maverick in the industry, founding the first and only third-party certified eco-friendly salon on the central coast of California in 2011. In January 2018 she sold Hive and eventually branched out to create POWWOW, her solo salon. located on her property, a very sacred and nurturing place. Her passions lie in creating lived-in textured cuts and multi-dimensional color which she’s lovingly honed over three decades in the industry.
